What's Going On?

What is this web site all about? It's called "change my city", but I see pretty much no activity on this page. I guess there's not much "change" going on.

My Church:

My Ministry(s):
"More to Life Ministry & Outreach", providing help and hope to those in need through the love of Jesus Christ. Called, by the Spirit of God to minister to the homeless of Atlantic City, NJ. Meeting needs, spreading love, building relationships, one person at a time, through patience, perservearance, and prayer.
My Vision:
You see them, then look the other way. Get a job you bum, some might say. They sleep on benches, under the boardwalk, and outside the money making, multi-million dollar casinos. They are the homeless of Atlantic City, NJ. Where the rich get richer and the poor go cold and hungry. They are the lost and forgotten. Many see them as lazy, dirty, drunks just looking for a free hand out. Never looking at them long enough to see the pain and despair in there eyes. They have names, they have hearts, they have feelings too. They are mothers, they are fathers, they are sisters, they are brothers. It's time we change our outlook and perception on the homeless. The homeless population is a perfect example of the saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover". Because believe me, that man with the back pack and beard, that woman sleeping on the bench, that person staggering down the boardwalk, all have a story. And a sad, painful one at that. Stories of rejection, depression, addiction, abandonment, illnesses, and abuse. But many do not even take the time to know there name. It's time we change that. Look at the "parable of the good samaritan" told by Jesus- "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise, a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, "Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you". So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?" And he said, "He who showed mercy on him". Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise"(Luke 10vs30-37). So when you are walking down the boardwalk or coming out of the casino, do not be like the two in the parable and, "pass by on the other side". Rather, be like the good samaritan and have compassion. For actions out of love shall never fail. Each and every one of the homeless individuals you see in Atlantic City are one of God's children. Please, have mercy on them. Stop and talk to them, pray for them. Feed them, clothe them, comfort them. Show them someone cares. For look what Jesus says about doing so in the book of Matthew 25vs35-40, "for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me". "Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, "Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison and come to You?" And the King will answer and say to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to Me". If they are lost, let us show the The Way. At times, forgotten, let us remember them in prayer. We are blessed, let us also be a blessing.

"Just Like You"

This poem is inspired by the people I have been blessed to get to know while doing outreach and ministering to the homeless in Atlantic City, NJ.

"Just Like You"

Running and hiding......back-sliding
Weary and worn out
Tired......but never sleeping
Weeping tears......from years of pain
They fall like rain......then wash away
just another day
Nobody seems to care
They just point and stare
If they only knew......the real me,
not just what they see
But my life is like a book,
judged by the cover.… Continue
