This poem is inspired by the people I have been blessed to get to know while doing outreach and ministering to the homeless in Atlantic City, NJ.
"Just Like You"
Running and hiding......back-sliding
Weary and worn out
Tired......but never sleeping
Weeping tears......from years of pain
They fall like rain......then wash away
just another day
Nobody seems to care
They just point and stare
If they only knew......the real me,
not just what they see
But my life is like a book,
judged by the cover.… Continue

This struck me as a powerful message. Bottom line, this organization is asking us all what can we do to make a difference. The caparison is made between what Father Damien did to help the lepers of Kalaupapa, Hawaii, and what we, ourselves, can do today to help alleviate AIDS, poverty and homelessness, etc. Take your compassion to action. Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/user/anawimdamienContinue

There is so much to write on the topic of finding joy that this short little blog article is almost an insult to the topic. The reason there is so much to write on it is because there is so much that goes unsaid on the topic. In a heart that endeavors to fulfill the great commission there is an overwhelming sense of responsibility to exhibit some of the grace that God has shown in the Christian's life to those who have yet to know His glory. Sometimes (or most times) this sense of responsibility… Continue

I want to clear up any misconceptions about the church body and our unity. There are many churches that love God, teach the gospel according to His will and live out the great commission in their day to day lives. There are also glaring gaps in our day to day lives as a church body that deserve some scrutiny. However, it is important to abstain from divisiveness between churches. Christians of the world, independent of their denomination are all part of a family and denominational differences sh… Continue

I have a simple etiquette lesson for non-Christians visiting our churches:
As I sat in church listening to Ken Ham re-tell some Biblical stories, I was surprised to see 3 members from the Modesto Junior College Science department sitting in on what I'm sure they thought would be a pickle barrel of straw men and red herring accounts of creationism. As Mr. Ham brought up the story of the tower of Babel, I watched one of my old biology professors throw up her hands in exasperation at the story. At… Continue

At the University of Texas there is a strip of Gualdalupe Blvd called "THE DRAG". This is a very heavily populated street when comes to the homeless. It is a congregation for young lost souls. I pass them every day. I think, "I should do something...What would Jesus do?" I pass right through the ally, and don't really think twice. Why do I do this? What would he really have done? Now, I'm not one of those UT students that has had a candy coated life. Not to say that I have necessarily struggled,… Continue

Connecting with God...
Working with the National Prayer Center has enabled me to absorb what seems to be the most common struggles that many Christians Face. The descriptions varry but the signs are all the same. Many of us are struggling with connecting with God.
You may be dealing with an abundance of issues right now and you don't really want to think that you are missing God on something. But the truth is that God has a plan for every struggle we can face and if you haven't been abl… Continue

A few people have asked me what the meaning is behind my user name "r3lliK". r3lliK is Killer spelled backwards. I originaly chose this handel cause I seen it on a wrestling show. After using it for a while it dawned on me that there was another reason this handle was givin to me. Killer was the lifestyle I was accustomed to. I lived the life of a criminal for many years. 20 plus years to be close. But when you accept God into your lives you are asked to repent. What is repent? Here it what Webs… Continue
Psalms 34:18 (Amplified)
"The Lord is close to those who are of a broken heart and saves such as are crushed with sorrow for sin and are humbly and thoroughly penitent."
You know, being saved doesn't mean that bad decisions won't be made. You should listen to Pastor Blake's sermon about sin crouching at your door. When we sin, how you respond to your sin is crucial. The verse here in Psalms 34 was written by King David. David, who wasn't perfect, understood the heart of God. How wel… Continue

Hey All!
Praise God, I have update concerning Michelle (my much better half). Recently the oncologist reported to have found three new cancer clusters (very small) on her rib cage, breast bone and above her left eye. Now, we struggle not with his report for God's report tells us that there is a liar that desires to have our life taken from us. God's Word tells us in Isaiah 54 that He created the waister and that no weapon he forms against us will prosper. So, the doctor ordered a CT scan fearing… Continue
