Psalms 34:18 (Amplified)
"The Lord is close to those who are of a broken heart and saves such as are crushed with sorrow for sin and are humbly and thoroughly penitent."
You know, being saved doesn't mean that bad decisions won't be made. You should listen to Pastor Blake's sermon about sin crouching at your door. When we sin, how you respond to your sin is crucial. The verse here in Psalms 34 was written by King David. David, who wasn't perfect, understood the heart of God. How well do you know the heart of God? When you hear God's name what do you think of? Do you think of a judge? Do you think of punishment? Do you think about eternity?
Well those things should come to mind, but what God wants is to be the first one you run to when you have done wrong. That's the truth. Jesus wants you to experience God's Mercy and Grace. He wants you to experience true change from the inside. See here where David knew God to be an friend even after he had done something wrong as long as he would run back to God with humility and repentance. Never wanting to do that thing again. There is no mandate for sin. Sin is wrong but God desires to have a regular relationship with you non-the-less. Jesus paid the price for that sin.
God will never turn His back on you when you run to His Thrown of Grace with a heart that says "I did the wrong thing Lord, I wish I hadn't and don't want to do it again" Run to Him when you sin. Knowing it is the blood of Jesus that covers you. Think about how different things will be when you find The Loving Hand of God instead of a the urge to run and hide. The Lord is close...Run to Him...
